District 4 newsletter
Dist. 4 June 2009 Newsletter

Comrades and Sisters of the Fourth District,

By the time you read this, my year as Commander will almost be over. As such I can only say that it has been quite an experience, with both rewards and brickbats. As a reminder, our Fourth District Convention will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at the Bova Post 9885 starting at noon.

To all of the Posts that worked hard and persevered in all of their endeavors, you have my hardiest congratulations. You well deserve it. I can only hope that you will continue to stay the course for the District and its next Commander.

For the Posts who experienced some problems, both large and small, and managed to solve them, again my hardiest congratulations. The learning experiences can sometimes be hard and painful, but sometimes these hard lessons are the only way to get ahead. Keep up the good work and continue to forge ahead.

And finally to those of us, who cannot seem to find their way to success, look around you and see if you can figure out where you got off of the track. Ask for help if need be. The very existence of our organization is in doubt when we allow ourselves to reach a point where we don’t look out for one another. After all, that is the whole purpose of our organization, to help one another.

I leave you all with this advice. Continue to fight the good fight; to learn from our mistakes and to continue to be, above all, Veterans helping Veterans.

Respectfully,

Ross E. Medos
