Brief Summary of the Minutes of the Nov 8, 2009 Convention of the Fourth District

To Allow SVC Ron Allen and Senior Vice President Lana Bourlier to solicit

 4th District Posts for tickets to their fundraiser.

 

 O   Guests: 5th District Commander Walter Clingan, 5th District JVC John Bond, 5th District Assistant Dept.
                       Inspector John Gubin, 5th District Adjutant Ken Klee, and Department of MI Representative to this
                       meeting Dept. of MI Junior Vice Commander Jack Pray.
          

 [    All District Posts have been inspected; however, there are some areas that must be corrected soon.

 O    Americanism Program: 100%
 L    Drug and Safety Program: Only 5 Posts have reported so far.
 L    Buddy Poppy: Per Dept. Report only four Posts have participated so far.
 Ä    Youth Activities Program: 6 Posts have not reported yet.
 F    VOD, Patriots Pen, Teacher of the Year: Banquet set for January 9, 2010.
 *   Employment: TACOM Jobs still available.
 •    Homeless Veterans: Coat and Glove drive in process; send to Veterans Haven.
 %    Hospital Program: 34 Posts reported, 14 Posts NOT reported in Cancer, 19 NOT reported in Blood Drive
 O    Legislative/PAC: Rep. of Veterans Affairs at VFW Post 6896; more PAC pins will be available.
 1  Membership: 88.8% in 4th District; 87.9% in Dept of MI; 85.81% Nationally.
 L    Annual Memorial Service: Poor turnout. 6 Posts attended that made no contribution; Attendance was 165.

 

 

Next Business Meeting of the Fourth District will be Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Mayflower/Lt. Gamble VFW Post 6695 in Plymouth.

THOSE COMMANDERS NOT ATTENDING DISTRICT MEETINGS ARE IN VIOLATION OF DEPARTMENT AND NATIONAL BY-LAWS.   STATE COMMANDER WILL IS ENFORCING ALL DEPARTMENT AND NATIONAL BY-LAWS.
